Today, Delray Beach‘s City Commissioners met and voted to move forward with the termination of City Manager, George Gretsas. The decision came as a result of an ongoing investigation into allegations, filed by two city employees, involving bullying and intimidation of staff on the part of Gretsas.

In accordance with Executive Order 20-123 order from the Governor of the State of Florida, on May 18, 2020 the City of Delray Beach will move into Full Phase 1 opening. The City encourages the public to follow CDC guidelines during the continued COVID-19 pandemic.

Public and private beaches in Palm Beach County will reopen on Monday, May 18, 2020. The City of Delray Beach will begin a phased reopening of its municipal beach as well as its adjacent park on Monday, May 18, 2020. The municipal beach and Atlantic Dunes Park will be open from 9am to 6pm every day.

Today, Governor Ron Desantis signed Executive Order 20-120 , which will be effective May 11, 2020. The order brings Palm Beach County in line with other areas in Florida and will bring some changes to the City of Delray Beach.

In keeping with the order issued April 29, 2020 by Governor Ron Desantis, the City of Delray Beach will end its stay at home order and curfew, and will no longer mandate the use of facial coverings, effective immediately.

In coordination with Palm Beach County, the City of Delray Beach will begin a phased and gradual reopening of City parks and golf courses, with restrictions, effective Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Beaches remain closed until further notice.
