Assistant Chief Michael De Bree has been with the Delray Beach Police Department since 2001.  He was promoted to assistant chief in 2025, captain in 2025, lieutenant in 2020, and sergeant in 2014.  Some of his past duties include, Internal Affairs Commander, Support Services Division Commander, Road Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Team Member, Detective, Police Explorer Advisor, Underwater Search and Recovery Team, Narcotics, Clean and Safe Unit, and Problem Oriented Policing.  Assistant Chief De Bree is currently assigned to the Support Services Bureau.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University.  His professional affiliations include the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course and the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
