Lieutenant Matthew Naparstek has served the City of Delray Beach since 2010. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2018 and lieutenant in 2025. Lieutenant Naparstek’s prior leadership assignments include SWAT Team Leader, Community Patrol Sergeant, Criminal Intelligence Unit Sergeant, and Vice Intelligence & Narcotics Unit Sergeant. Lieutenant Naparstek is currently the Commander of the Special Investigations Section and SWAT team.

Lieutenant Naparstek graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and he earned his master’s degree in national security affairs from Nova Southeastern University. 

Lieutenant Naparstek is also a U.S. Army combat veteran and graduate of the prestigious U.S. Army Ranger Course, Command and General Staff Officers Course (ILE), and Advanced Operations Course (AOC).

His professional affiliations include the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) and Florida Gang Investigator Association (FGIA).
