Lieutenant Joseph Grammatico began his career with the Delray Beach Police Department in 2007. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2020, and then to Lieutenant in 2025. He is currently a Community Patrol Watch Commander. His past assignments include Community Patrol, the Community Response Task Force, the Problem Oriented Police Unit, detached to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office South Florida Task Force and the Crimes Against Persons Unit. As a Sergeant he was again assigned to Community Patrol, followed by the Criminal Intelligence Unit. Lieutenant Grammatico is also the supervisor of the Drone Unit and the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Coordinator for the department. He is a former Squad Leader for the department’s S.W.A.T. Team, where he served for 9 years.
