Assistant Chief Anthony Martinez began his law enforcement career with the Delray Beach Police Department in 2004. He progressed through the ranks, being promoted to sergeant in 2012, lieutenant in 2018, captain in 2022, and assistant chief in 2025. A South Florida native, he attended high school in Hollywood, Florida. Assistant Chief Martinez went on to attend the University of Central Florida and Nova Southeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Management.  He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s 78^th Command Officers Development Course and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police in 2019. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous leadership roles,  including serving as Impact TeamSergeant, SWAT Team Leader, SWAT Team Commander, Investigative Division Commander, Vice Intelligence and Narcotics, Road Patrol Commander, and Commander of the Community Response Division. Assistant Chief Martinez is currently assigned to the Field Operations Bureau.
