The Fire Safety Division’s Public Education strives to provide effective fire safety education safety conditions. Programs are a “hands-on” approach and available for all ages, including children and adults.

To Apply for a Public Education Services, fill out the a Public Education Activity Request Form. All events, except for the Home Safety Surveys, must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance.

Here’s a listing of our Public Education Activities:

Fire Station Tours

The Delray Beach Fire Rescue Department offers station tours to foster stronger connections with the community and promote public safety awareness. These tours provide residents—especially children and families—with a firsthand look at fire and emergency services, equipment, and daily operations. By engaging the public, the department educates on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and the vital role firefighters play in keeping the community safe. These tours also build trust, encourage civic involvement, and inspire future generations to consider careers in public safety.

Career Day/School Presentations

If you want your students to learn about a career in the fire service, just give us a call. We offer brief an informative interactive lesson and presentations in a classroom setting for children in preschool through high school.

School Presentations

We address fire safety issues in many areas for an entire school assemblies or a single classroom presentation. The grade level will determine the level of presentations, the type of handout material, and the style of instruction.

Community Presentations/Events

Firefighters and Firefighter Paramedics are available on a limited schedule to come out to your location to present to a Civic Group, Homeowners Association, Church, School, or other organization and speak about issues that are directly impacting our community related to health, wellness, and injury prevention. Please take a moment to review the topics and choose which one would be best for your group.
