Re-roof permits are express permits as long as all documents are uploaded up-front and a complete application can be sent directly to review. Most express permits are issued within three business days.
It is key to provide a complete application to get the permit issued quickly.
Document Requirements
- Scope of Work with Cost Breakdown
Examples may include AIA document, signed contract, invoice, quote, etc. The document must provide detailed scope of work with a breakdown of the total cost of construction. This total cost is to include labor, material, equipment, and project related costs such as design, surveys, roll-off, etc. per FBC section 109.3.
- Product Approvals – NOA/FL
NOTE: For DBPR product approval, the “cover page” and the specific applicable installation instructions must be uploaded as a single document. See example of cover page below:

Roof Mitigation Form (Required if year built is before March 2002 and improvement value is greater than $300,000.00.)

Insured/Improvement Value (Required if year built is before March 2002 and improvement value is greater than $300,000.00 - Provide insurance summary sheet, or recent tax bill, or improvement value from property appraiser's office webpage)

Notice of Commencement

Association Approval (Condo or HOA as applicable)
Sub Permits
- Alteration: typically, when truss straps need to be installed or any other alteration to the existing property linked to the re-roof.
- Mechanical: when A/C units need to be removed or replaced.
- Solar: when solar panels need to be removed or replaced.
Sub Permits can be applied as a sub record directly from the main permit record or if the subcontractor does not have access to the main permit, from the general application page. Please be sure to provide the main permit number when applying for a sub permit.
Inspections
- All inspections should be scheduled online via eServices.

Once you log on, click on the My Work tile.

Under "My Permits" find the permit for which you want to schedule and inspection and click on the permit number

Click on the inspections tab to view all inspections pertaining to the permit. Request the inspection as needed. Click here to watch a vide on how to request an inspection.
Re-Nailing Affidavits and Roof Uplift Tests
- These documents should be attached to the proper inspection. NOTE: These are not field inspections.

First request the inspection.

Pick the first available date and either AM or PM. Add any notes for additional information.
Once the confirmation is received (as below), click on the back button (see arrow) to go back to the permit record.

Find your Re-Nailing Affidavit Inspection and click on the inspection number to open the inspection

Upload the affidavit as an attachment.

Click Submit
The document will queued for review.
