How to apply for a permit
Delray Beach's permitting process is now fully digital! You can easily submit documents, pay fees, and download permits online. Prefer paper? No problem! Bring in your documents, and we'll help digitize them for you with our scanning service for a fee.

For assistance with applying for a permit, the Development Services Building Division is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 100 NW 1st Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444 (North of the main City Hall entrance).

What to know before you get started
- Express Permits Available: A/C change-out, water heater replacement and re-roof permits are considered express permits and will be expedited and issued within three days. Emergency A/C change-outs and water heater replacements can also be accommodated if the permit is submitted within 24 hours of doing the work.
- Contractor Registration: Contractors must register and maintain their current license on file prior to permit submittal.
