Anthea Gianniotes, AICP, came to the City of Delray Beach in January 2016, and serves as the Development Services Director. In her role, Ms. Gianniotes supervises a staff of 45 and oversees over 6,000 permits each year, including a wide range of projects from single family historic restorations to large scale mixed use projects, with a construction value of over $300 million.
Ms. Gianniotes also oversees the Historic Preservation Board, Site Plan Review and Appearance Board, Planning and Zoning Board, and Board of Adjustment and collaborates with the Community Redevelopment Agency, Downtown Development Authority, Public Arts Advisory Board, Pineapple Grove Main Street, Parking Management Advisory Board, and Green Implementation Advisory Board.
Ms. Gianniotes is a graduate of the University Miami’s School of Architecture and has more than 25 years of town planning experience in both public and private sectors, including preparing neighborhood revitalization plans, crafting land development regulations and comprehensive plans, providing plan and architectural review, and facilitating community visioning efforts. She is a founding member and past Chair of the Florida Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism. Her work has been recognized by the Driehaus Form-Based Code Award (2016 and 2007) and the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association (2013 and 2006).
