Repair on the 12-inch Subaqueous Water Main Crossing the Intracoastal Water Way
What? The 12-inch potable water main crossing the Intracoastal Waterway at Dogwood Drive on the west and 2220 S. Ocean Blvd on the east, experienced a failure.
What are we doing? The repairs to this pipe will need to be performed by a specialty industrial underwater contractor. The City is contracting with Industrial Divers Corporation of Fort Lauderdale to perform this repair.
What will residents experience? Customers using potable water may experience a loss of pressure at water fixtures, such as sink faucets, shower, and hose bibs.
In addition, beginning Friday, January 18, 2019 and continuing over into the next week, residents fronting the ICWW will experience construction activity, which may include, but not limited to a large barge with running compressors, pumps, cranes, and other necessary equipment.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or hardship this issue has caused you, our valued customers. The City continues to work diligently with contractors and professional engineering consultants to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
