The City of Delray Beach is inviting residents and business owners/operators to two community conversations about downtown parking and curb uses. The meetings, which will take place on July 20, at Veteran's Park Community Center, are part of a study to evaluate public parking in the City's downtown and beach areas. The aim is to improve the reliability and mobility in these areas by addressing issues brought forward by residents, customers, businesses, employees, and the City Commission.
Meeting #1: 9 AM - 11 AM, July 20, 2021, at 802 NE 1st St., Delray Beach
Meeting #2: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM, July 20, 2021, at 802 NE 1st St., Delray Beach
Topics of discussion include:
- Off-street parking lots and garages
- On-street parking spaces
- Valet parking stands
- Ridesharing uses (Uber, Lyft, Taxi), and delivery services (Grub-Hub, Delivery Dudes)
- Pedestrian and bicycle space
- Loading zones for delivery vehicles
Over the past year, the City has been collecting data, has issued a detailed survey with nearly 700 responses, conducted interviews with downtown stakeholders, and worked with a professional parking consultant to understand trends and issues associated with downtown parking and managing active street uses (such as Valet, Delivery Vehicles, and Pedestrian Uses), to better understand the community.
RSVP is encouraged. Please email Nicole.Chinea@wginc.com to RSVP.
