After several months of virtual meetings, the City of Delray Beach plans to fully return to in-person City Commission and Board meetings starting June 1, 2021. Covid-19 screenings at municipal facilities will also be suspended at that time. Members of the public who wish to attend commission or board meetings, or enter any municipal facility, are asked to wear a mask if they have not been fully vaccinated.
“Public meetings are a vital part of our representative government,” Mayor Shelly Petrolia said. “In-person meetings allow for a human connection and clarity of communication with those we represent.”
Meetings are streamed live online at http://delraybeach.legistar.com/ or on YouTube. The City’s pre-recorded public comment phone line will no longer be in use. Members of the public wishing to provide comments during a meeting must do so in person. For more information, please contact the Delray Beach City Clerk’s Office at 561-243-7050.
The transition to in-person meetings is in accordance with the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals. For more information on CDC COVID-19 guidelines visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html.
