Post Date:12/19/2019 12:40 PM

Join Delray Beach Mayor Shelly Petrolia, Commissioner Adam Frankel, the Delray Beach City Commission and Max Weinberg, longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Sunday evening as we light the first candle of the menorah during the 10th annual Grand Delray Beach Chanukah Festival and Menorah Lighting at Old School Square.

5:30 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2019

Old School Square Pavilion,

51 N Swinton Ave, Delray Beach

Rabbi Shmuli Biston, from Chabad East Delray, Rabbi Rony Keller, Cantor Sarah Freudenberger from the Congregation B’nai Israel, and the B’nai Israel children’s choir will all be taking part.

Attendees will enjoy traditional holiday treats such as latkes and sufganiyot, kids’ arts and crafts, dreidels and Chanukah gelt to celebrate the start of Chanukah. This event is free to the public.

Chanukah is an eight-day Jewish festival, commonly referred to as the festival of lights, going back more than 2,000 years. The festival honors the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, where a group of Jewish warriors enacted a plan to gain back control of Jerusalem.
