Rise: A Climate and Art Weekend
On October 4th and 5th, the City of Delray Beach will host Rise: A Climate and Art Weekend, a two-day art and climate change resilience event taking place throughout the city. During the event, the public will be able to explore Delray’s many art galleries, watch films, enjoy music, and listen to regional experts discuss climate change impacts and resilience at more than a dozen venues.
Rise will kick off on Friday, October 4th, in conjunction with the Downtown Development Authority’s First Friday Art Walk at 6 pm. Throughout the weekend, local restaurants and bars, including Dada, Honey, Death or Glory, and Banyan, among others, will create Rise inspired signature happy hours cocktails.
Other activities will include, crafts for youngsters, performances by local high school students, and comedy shows. Most of the activities will be free to the public.
On Saturday, October 5th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Saltwater Brewery will feature music, free craft beer, and food truck fare, while supplies last.
Delray Beach’s Office of Sustainability has partnered with many of the city’s leading cultural institutions, including the Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square, Arts Warehouse, the Delray Beach Historical Society, Sandoway House, Arts Garage, the Delray Beach Library, the League of Women Voters, ImprovU, Saltwater Brewery, Milagro Center, Atlantic Community High School, Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County, the Downtown Development Authority and the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce to make host this event.
