DELRAY BEACH RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS ACHIEVEMENT OF EXCELLENCE AWARD FROM THE NATIONAL PURCHASING INSTITUTE
The City of Delray Beach’s Purchasing Department has been awarded the National Procurement Institute’s 23rd Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement, which recognizes innovation, professionalism, productivity and leadership in the field of procurement. The National Procurement Institute encourages the development of excellence and continued organizational improvement in public and non-profit institutions.
“This award means our procurement team is nationally recognized for their professionalism, innovation and ethical practices. In short, they excel at what they do, and we couldn’t be prouder” Interim City Manager Neal de Jesus said.
The Purchasing Department procures goods and services valued in excess of $56 million annually to support city-wide operations and manages vendor relations for 469 vendors.

The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award is sponsored by the California Association of Public Procurement Officials (CAPPO), Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials (FAPPO), NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement, National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), Texas Public Purchasing Association (TxPPA), and the Canadian Public Procurement Council / Conseil canadien des marchés publics (CPPC).
