COMMUNITY INVITED TO RUN WITH THE CHIEF THROUGH HISTORIC DOWNTOWN DELRAY BEACH
The event will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 8 a.m., beginning at Libby Wesley Plaza, located at 2 SW 5th Avenue in Delray Beach.
“Run with the Chief is about connection, conversation, and community,” Chief Darrell Hunter said. “It’s a chance for residents to meet our officers and spend time with us in a positive, relaxed setting."
Participants are welcome to run or walk the 1.4-mile route through the heart of downtown Delray Beach. The event was created to give residents and supporters a chance to meet Chief Hunter and get to know some of the department’s newest recruits who are preparing to begin the police academy or have recently completed their training.

Route: Participants will start at Libby Wesley Plaza and head east on Atlantic Avenue. They will then turn left onto NE Second Avenue and continue north to NE Second Street. From there, participants will turn around and return to Libby Wesley Plaza along the same route.
Free parking is available at the following locations:
• Sands Lot: 116 NW 5th Ave
• Fire Station: 501 W. Atlantic Ave
• Frog Alley: 250 SW 4th Ave
• Library Lot: 100 W. Atlantic Ave
• Tennis Center: 201 W. Atlantic Ave
• City Hall: 100 NW 1st Ave
