George Bush Boulevard Bascule Bridge to Close Starting June 1st for Essential Repairs
Palm Beach County to Close George Bush Boulevard Bascule Bridge for Essential Repairs
Beginning at 7 AM on June 1, 2026, until July 20, 2026, Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works (EPW) George Bush Boulevard over the Intracoastal Waterway will be closed for bridge deck repairs. Palm Beach County has anticipated this closure and has implemented temporary measures to keep the bridge operating safely until the repairs for the closure begin. While the bridge is closed for repairs, there will be a detour for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic via Federal Highway, Atlantic Avenue, and Ocean Boulevard. There are no closures expected for maritime traffic.
Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this temporary inconvenience as they work to enhance the safety and efficiency of the County’s infrastructure.
