Perry Weather

Weather monitoring and alerting system.

Welcome to our pool! To ensure your safety and enjoyment, we’ve equipped our facility with the Perry Weather Weather System. This state-of-the-art system monitors local weather conditions and provides timely alerts to keep you informed and secure during your visit.

Perry weather is a weather detection system that is on-site giving updated weather conditions in real time. It is able to send instant alerts and is used by thousands of organizations.  Perry weather integrates our city of Delray Beach weather policies on thunder and lightning with automated alerts so that everyone can take the appropriate action quickly. Some of the special features include real-time lightning alerts, heat stress protocols, countdown timers for when activities can resume, and ask a meteorologist etc. What’s exciting is our customers at the pool will be able to scan a QR code to get a live countdown and alerts on when to take shelter.

What to expect:

This system can detect lightning within a 10-mile radius, and the warning will consist of a one 15-second blast of a horn.

When park-goers hear or see this signal, all activities shall be suspended; they should leave the fields, clear the pool deck, and immediately seek an appropriate, safe shelter which includes large buildings, lightning shelters, automobiles/trucks, or tunnels with no standing water. Do Not Stay in Dugouts! People should avoid open areas, water, tall trees, metal fences, overhead wires and power lines, high ground areas, telephones and cellular phones, radios, and small, unprotected shelters like dugouts. Any one not following these guidelines and remains outdoors or in an inappropriate area or shelter will do so at their own risk.

The system will also detect safe conditions after a storm has passed and activities may resume only after three short blasts of the horn are sounded.
