West African Dance Experience with Nzingah Oniwosan

Step into rhythm and reconnect with your body through the joy, energy, and tradition of African dance. This dynamic movement class blends traditional West African and African Diasporic dance vocabulary with live or recorded drumming to cultivate strength, rhythm, coordination, and expression. Each session includes a warm-up, technique, cultural context, and guided choreography, designed to be accessible to all levels, from first-timers to experienced movers. About Nzingah Oniwosan

Nzingah Oniwosan is a Haitian-American Master Teaching Artist, cultural wellness entrepreneur, and multidisciplinary creative with over 20 years of experience in arts education and community engagement. An award-winning visual artist, classically trained musician, African and Haitian folklore dancer, and 500-hour yoga teacher, she bridges culture, movement, and healing in all of her work.

She is the founder of Sankofa’s Child, Inc., a nonprofit rooted in culturally responsive arts education, and Yes Baby I Like It Raw, a holistic wellness platform centered on plant-based living and embodied healing. Nzingah has reached more than 300,000 students nationally and internationally and was the 2023 recipient of the Doris Leeper Award from the Florida Alliance for Arts Education.

Through her teaching, speaking, and leadership, she plants seeds of creativity, cultural pride, and sustainable wellness across generations.
