The Senior Games movement began in Florida in 1974 with the Golden Age Games in Sanford and quickly grew as local and state events emerged statewide and across the nation. In 1988, a Florida task force united these local games into a coordinated series, leading to the first Florida Senior Games State Championships in 1992. Today, the Florida Senior Games continue to grow, offering seniors opportunities for fitness, fellowship, and friendly competition at the local, state, and national levels—emphasizing participation, healthy lifestyles, and an affordable, high-quality multi-sport experience for Florida’s seniors. No matter your skill level, we invite you to participate and experience the Games!
