Join Delray Beach Mayor, Tom Carney, along with other elected officials and community leaders at the 3rd Annual Mayor’s Chess Challenge, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025. The Challenge will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Delray Beach Community Center. This event is part of a wide-range campaign spanning Broward and Palm Beach Counties, aimed at promoting the educational and community benefits of chess.

The Mayor’s Chess Challenge is part of a free and inclusive series of chess meet-ups held in multiple cities in South Florida, emphasizing chess’s positive impact in academic settings and community engagement. Participants of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to join in for a morning of friendly competition and camaraderie.
